Father Sir Thomas KIRKPATRICK, ,of Closeburne and Bradburgh,   d. Abt 1358
    • Some earlier records list Winfred and Yvone as sons of Thomas' brother Roger , but Maj Gen.Charles Kirkpatrick, is very clear in his book ,published in 1954, "Records of the Closeburn Kirkpatrick's" that they are in fact Thomas' children.Roger had one son,Umphred , who, in 1354,in order to obtain the release of King David Bruce ,and together with James Lindsay of Crawford, and eighteen other youths ,was handed over as part of the ransom demands. It is unlikely that Umphred survived the imprisonment.
