      "NOTICE is hereby given that I, CHARLES ROBERT ARMITAGE SMITH, of 203. Macquarie St. North. Sydney,in the colony of New South Wales, lately serving under Articles of Clerkship to Robert Burdett smith, of No. 189, King St. Sydney aforesaid, Gentleman, one of the Attorneys, of the Supreme Court of the said colony, intend to apply on the last day of the present term to be admitted to practice as an Attorney,Solicitor, and Proctor of this Honourable Court. Dated at Sydney this 29th day of August, A.D. 1882. CHARLES R. A. SMITH."

      BREVITIES. "Mr. Charles R. A. Smith, who so successfully passed his examination and was admitted to the bar at the beginning of the present month, had his maiden case in the Insolvency Court a day or two ago and conducted it admirably. Mr. Smith is the youngest passed barrister in the colony, being only just turned 21 years of age. He has doubtless a brilliant career before him."
