"Another sudden death- --Mrs Catherine Fenn, wife of Mr. William Fenn, of Wowingragong, Lachlan River, died in Orange on Tuesday evening last, aged forty-five years. She left Forbes only about ten days previously, in the coach, to seek medical aid in Orange. Her corpse was brought back in the same conveyance Wednesday evening. On Thursday her remains .were buried in the family cemetery at Wowingragong. Many of the townspeople of Forbes attended the funeral, and several places of business were closed. The deceased, we believe, was a native of Campbelltown, and her maiden name was Catherine Green. She has resided about twenty seven years on the Lachlan. The Hon. J. Barnier officiated as clergyman. The burial plot is beautifully situated a few hundred yards above the Squatters Arms, neatly enclosed, on the 'bank of the Lachlan River, and there, after an active and eventful life, where the water constantly murmurs, and the sighing winds are heard through the mournful foliage of the graceful oaks - the spot made sacred by containing the ashes of near and dear relatives,is the last resting place of one who was so recently the picture of health, and the centre of a numerous and respectable family.-Lachlan Reporter.

Some records have Catherine entering a relationship before her marriage to James Goodwin -this gent is recorded as Robert White.

Further proving the association with Robert White is this newspaper article Ref:The Maitland Mercury & Hunter River General Advertiser (NSW : 1843 - 1893) Thursday 25 July 1861 "ACCIDENT.-On Friday evening, the 12th instant, Miss Susan Goodwin, youngest daughter of Mrs. W. Fenn, of Wowingragong, being engaged in some domestic employment near a fire, her garments, which were of very slight texture, ignited, and she was almost instantly enveloped in flames ; and but for the selfless devotion of her sister, Miss White, the consequences would, in all probability, have been fatal. As it is, the latter is the greatest sufferer, having had her arms and hands fearfully burned. Both of the amiable young ladies are, however, I am happy to say, doing well.-Bathurst Times, July 20."

    • Dennis and Mary Green's property on the Lachlan River was originally called "Wowingragong". In 1861, when gold was discovered in the region, the area was later to be classified as the Lachlan Gold field well before the township of Forbes was in existence. Robert White and the Green family were to become firm friends being among some of the earliest settlers in the area. As a consequence, Robert White and Catherine Porter struck up a close relationship. On 24 April , 1839 , Robert White (jnr) was born, a son to Robert (snr) and Catherine. The new family returned to Sydney, possibly for stock and supplies, where on 17 August , 1839 their son was baptised at St Luke' s Church in Liverpool. The family returned to the Lachlan for a year or so but was resident in Liverpool when their daughter, Eliza Mary, was born on 8 July , 1841. She was baptised a month later at St Luke's church on 8 August , 1841. Robert White died on the 25 November, 1842 only 6 days after writing his last will and testament. He was buried at St Paul's Church of England, Cobbity in the Parish of Narellan on 28 November 1842. He was 40 years of age and was listed as a grazier.
