      In Memoriam. "BURDETT-SMlTH.-In memoriam of the Honorable R. Burdett-Smith, C.M.G., M.L.C., who died at his residence, 203 Macquarie-street, Sydney (in the very prime of life), July 2nd, 1895. Universally esteemed and deeply lamented by troops of friends in England and the colonies. Extract from letter of a late Governor of New South Wales - " His loss is a great one to the colony. He was a true patriot, and his name will be handed down to future generations in the colony as a pure-minded, eloquent and able statesman. London, April 23rd, 1897. 25th August, birthday anniversary." BURDETT-SMITH.-The late Hon. Burdett-Smith, C.M.G., M.L.C.

Burdett-Smith, C.M.G., M.L.C., in a letter dated Marlborough House, May 3rd, 1897, addressed to the late lamented Mr. Burdett- Smith's sister, Miss Burdett-Smith."
