      Wc very much regret to have to announce the decease yesterday of Mrs. H. O'R, Fox, of The Oaks Station, near Yaamba, after a brief illness. The deceased lady was the second daughter,of the late Mr. Benjamin Brookes and a sister of Mrs. Harry Baynes and the late Mrs. J. C. Hutton. There are three brothers, Messrs. Edwin, Arthur and Harry, who are well known in Queens- land. She married Mr. H. O'R. Fox in 1905 and for the last few years had lived at The Oaks, of which station Mr.Fox was part owner. Of a sweet and affectionate nature she was very popular with those with whom she came in contact and her loss will be deeply felt.

      SOCIAL.The engagement is announced of Miss Edith Brookes (second daughter of the late Mr Benjamin Brookes) to Mr Herbert Fox, of Lotus Creek station. The bride-elect is a sister of Mrs Harry Baynes.

      WEDDING. Fox-Brookes. A wedding which will be of interest to many people in Brisbane took place at Yatton station on 11th instant The bride groom was Mr Herbert O'Reilly Fox of Lotus Creek station, a son of Mr George Fox MLA and the bride who is well known in this city was Miss Edith Brookes second daughter of the late (Mr Benjamin Brookes and a sister of Mrs Harry Barnes and of Mrs J C Hutton of Yatton station. The ceremony which took place in the drawing room was per formed by the Rev J Brocklehurst of St Barnabas Church North Rockhampton. The bride who was given away by her brother Mr Arthur Brookes (of Mackay) wore a pretty and becoming gown of cream canvas voile and a spray of orange blossom in her hair. The brides maids were her twin nieces, Misses Jean and Edith Hutton who wore "granny" frocks of soft white silk. After the ceremony the guests wore entertained by Mr and Mrs Hutton at a wedding breakfast and later in the day Mr and Mrs Fox drove to their home at Lotus Greek. Owing to illness in the bridegrooms family the wedding was a very quiet one only a few guests being present amongst whom were Mrs C M Bromley (Rockhampton) Mr. And Mrs A C J Beard more (of Tooloombah) Mr. and Mrs. McLellan (of Clive) and Miss Coundon (Melbourne) On leaving for home the bride wore a pretty travelling dress of blue muslin trummel with blue silk and hat to match. Both the bride's costumes were made by Mrs Janet Walker.
